Avoiding Call Function in Planning Function (Fox Formula)

Hello guys,

We are using fox formula for our planning function, since we have complex calculation in our planning and none of the standard function suits our use case. Within the formula we use Call function, in turn this function just reads master data (single record) from a DSO that is used for the calculation in the fox formula.

Problem

The planning function with fox formula works, but the problem is performance. Since the system is BW on HANA, we would like to leverage the power of HANA. Planning Application KIT allows one to execute BW planning function within HANA.  But according to the SAP Note 1637199 using CALL FUNCTION within Fox formula will avoid planning function executing in HANA.

The question is, is there any alternative solution to read data from a Fox formula, in Order to get rid off Call Function?

One of my own Workaround was to create variables and store the values of the variable in the Customer exit function and read the variable in the fox formula with the VARV(). But one of the field in DSO is a Key figure InfoObject, for which we can’t create a variable for it.

I would like to know if there is any other alternative way in which I can achieve the requirement. Any Comments or suggestion will be helpful.

Thankyou in advance!!

Regards,

Dharnesh
