Re: What is Layer ID Used for?

Hi Raj,

There are a lot of fields that are not mentioned in any documentation. Usually this means that such a field is used by the system only, it is not meant to be used by users in any way. It is very rare that such a field is useful in a query or the sp_tn.

Then there are quite a few fields that SAP has deemed to be so self-explanatory, that they are not explained anywhere. Also B1 documentation usually runs a little behind, and it is notoriously unexplanatory.

You may turn on system information (View > System Information) and hover the mouse cursor over the fields related to the table you checked. At the bottom of the screen it should tell you the field name. Perhaps you can accidentally find a field in the GUI that is bound to the field in the database.

In a nutshell, if you don't know what a field is for, and you can't find any information about it, you don't need it in queries.

Regards,

Johan
